Columbus College of Art & Design's website is the most visited "building" on our campus, and in this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how the website's users-potential students, current students, faculty, staff, and the greater community as a whole-experience CCAD. You'll work alongside an amazing team of professionals in the Marketing & Communications department to ensure our website-and other forms of digital communication-is exciting, up to date, and ready to show the world how CCAD's diverse group of artists and designers impact the world, in culture and in commerce.


SUMMARY

This position will report to the Director of Marketing, and will be responsible for website updates, workflow and implementation, and building out new content for the website with the user's needs in mind, while also helping to elevate CCAD's strategic messaging. This position will also communicate with CCAD's internal community to update them on progress and plans for website requests. This role will also make sure that community calendars outside of CCAD are up to date with the latest CCAD events. The best candidate is detail oriented, understands the basics of SEO, and can design pages and independently prioritize complex messaging on the website. Additionally, they should have knowledge of the Adobe suite of products, and experience with Drupal or other CMS systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Website Updates

  • Manages the college-wide website updates process for CCAD's websites, which includes both simple and complex changes to ccad.edu, portals, and microsites.
    • Implements and gathers resources and requirements for complex website changes
    • Coordinates communication between internal departments and Marketing & Communications on such projects
    • Works with CCAD departments on website audit & QA schedule
    • Aligns departmental strategy with larger institutional website strategy
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to implement an annual content update calendar for CCAD's websites.
  • Provides user experience feedback for the website, blog posts, and landing pages
  • Coordinates with the Art Director for visuals needed for CCAD's websites.
  • Assists Director of Marketing by finding, managing, and fixing content-related problems and bugs on CCAD's websites on a routine basis and as needed.
  • Works with website developer partners and Marketing team to provide feedback on user features, SEO and ADA content recommendations.
  • Monitors CCAD's websites for ADA compliance.
  • Optimizes social media image cards ensuring that CCAD's content is primed for social media and for SEO.
  • Assists with social media post design, as needed
  • Coordinates with website developer partners to fix CMS code when needed.
  • Builds landing pages for various CCAD campaigns.
  • Manages and updates faculty and staff bios on CCAD's website.
  • Makes recommendations for user-friendly improvements for CCAD's websites.
  • Provides guidance for and trains internal users to update CCAD's microsites and departmental pages.
  • Assists with website and organizational tasks as part of CCAD's Crisis Communication plan.
  • Generates ideas for digital-first experiences for CCAD's external audiences.
  • Manages and organizes the execution of the virtual tour update process.

Digital Content & Editorial

  • Manages on campus digital signage content.
  • Creates external calendar listings for all CCAD events.
  • Helps manage CCAD's internal mailing lists.
  • Executes "share your story" tasks, including adding and organizing information, adding content and events to the websites, and coordinates with the Marketing & Communications team to manage all stakeholder communications.

QUALIFICATIONS

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Experience in operating a CMS, HTML knowledge is preferred
  • Writing experience

  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation.

  • Demonstrated experience in direct communication, collaboration, problem-solving skills, timeliness, and attention to detail

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or related fields is required; a minimum of one year of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience in higher education is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe products is necessary.
  • Basic knowledge of project management.
  • Proven experience in website content management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.



COMPENSATION: This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, additional paid time off while the college is closed during winter break, sick time accrual, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, campus parking, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
