ABOUT THE SUMMER PROGRAM MANAGER: The Columbus College of Art & Design Graduate Studies department is seeking to hire a part-time professional who is energetic and creative. The summer program manager will report directly to the Dean of Graduate Studies. The hourly rate for this position is $19/hr.

SUMMARY

The Summer Program Manager is a creative, strategic, self-motivated, and detail-oriented education professional who coordinates and manages exceptional youth and community enrichment programming. The Summer Program Manager coordinates and manages all programs serving young students (K-12) and sophomore undergraduates. These programs currently include: Creative Summer Workshops (for K-12 students), College Preview (a summer credit-bearing experience for high school juniors), and a Rising Sophomore summer experience.

This will be a part time position and begin approximately March 15 and ends on September 1. Hours per week will vary depending on workload.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

Academic Affairs

  • Hire, manage, train, and mentor contract faculty and student employees who will teach in these programs
  • Maintain program quality and effectiveness by thorough support and review of curriculum development and implementation
  • Create, maintain, and communicate program schedules
  • Serve as in-person point-of-contact for College Preview
  • Serve as in-person point-of-contact for Rising Sophomore Experience

Student Affairs

  • Liaise with Student Affairs, including the Director of Residence Life and Housing, in coordinating all residential and student affairs aspects of College Preview and Rising Sophomore Experience

Communications

  • Liaise with Marketing & Communications team to create program copy and ensure proper messaging
  • Serve as primary communicator with students and their parents for College Preview and Creative Summer Workshops; primary communicator with students for Rising Sophomore Experience.

Enrollment Management

  • Manage and lead enrollment processes for Creative Summer Workshops and Rising Sophomore Experience. Collaborate with Enrollment Management on such for College Preview
  • Serve as point-of-contact for answering pre-enrollment questions about College Preview

General Duties

  • Devise, deploy, and evaluate a transparent scholarship program for Creative Summer Workshops & College Preview
  • Proactively communicate and effectively collaborate with cognate offices including but not limited to Career Services, Development, Business, and Corporate & Community Projects
  • Attend/schedule/lead meetings were appropriate
  • Budget planning and oversight for all programming
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adjunct faculty
  • Student employees

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Organizational skills
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff
  • Understanding and ability to organize, manage, and populate social media accounts
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, Google suite, Adobe suite and technical skills related to at least one of the majors in the reporting organization.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required. Masters degree in art/design education preferred.

  • Proven experience in K-12, higher education, education administration, or arts administration.
  • Knowledge of trends within the field of art and design and the education of K-12 students
  • Demonstrated professional experience in curriculum development and innovative academic programming
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data
  • Experience in budgetary and personnel management
  • Collaborative, entrepreneurial, proactive style, with excellent human relations skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning/project management skills
  • Detail oriented and deadline driven work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and sustain relationships and engage in collaboration
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • The pace of the work environment is moderate to fast.
