CCAD's Auxiliary Services Department is seeking a professional who enjoys fast-paced roles, can work independently with little supervision, is a critical thinker, and has the ability to multi-task to fill this role. The auxiliary services department is a highly collaborative and cohesive team, providing a wide range of high-quality services for our faculty, staff, and students. SUMMARY

To promote a friendly and customer service oriented atmosphere and to assist in all aspects of maintaining the Retail Store Operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but are not limited to the following:


  • Greets and engages customers in a warm and welcoming manner within the brick and mortar store, via phone or email communications
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills, product knowledge, and sales skills to drive sales and customer satisfaction
  • Communicates in a clear and effective manner to answer questions from the customers concerning location, price and use of merchandise
  • Attention to detail to create attractive product displays, organize merchandise and stock, monitor and restock merchandise items being displayed
  • Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill
  • Keeps record of sales, and prepares inventory of stock
  • Stocks shelves, counters and or tables with merchandise
  • Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise
  • Assembles prepackaged freshmen kits
  • Unloads deliveries, and take inventory on incoming supplies
  • Prepares sales slip and accepts payment, makes change, and/or obtains credit authorization
  • Wraps or bags merchandise for customers
  • Cleans shelves, counters or tables, and sweeps & mops floor
  • Removes and records amount of cash in register at end of shift
  • Comfortable with computer/technical skills to handle Point of sale system (POS), online ordering system, credit card transactions, and email
  • Assists with special promotions.
  • Assists with projects assigned by the Associate Vice President

  • Ability to excel in a customer facing position working in a customer service atmosphere.
  • Trustworthy and honest handling cash and credit card transactions.
  • Positive, personable, reliable, people person who enjoys working with and servicing a diverse range of individuals.
  • Flexible and reliable
  • Ability to maintain composure during high stress times or interactions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Six to twelve months related experience and/or training.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.



COMPENSATION: This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, additional paid time off while the college is closed during winter break, sick time accrual, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
