Security Officer 1St  Shift

Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is currently seeking candidates for a Security Officer. Safety & Security Officers maintain a safe and secure environment for students, employees, and visitors at CCAD. This is a 1st shift position, working 8am 4pm (the days off could vary to ensure adequate patrol coverage). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Patrol campus and surrounding neighborhood to ensure security of people and facilities
• Participate in training in multiple security related areas
• Make scheduled patrols through campus buildings.
• Maintain the safety of employees and students while on campus.
• Complete and follow up on incident reports.
• Provide escort service on campus when necessary to faculty, staff and students.
• Maintain visibility and provide customer service to the campus community. .
• Take control of critical situations which may require physical intervention.

Security Officers are considered "essential staff" and are expected to work during school breaks and some holidays.

To be considered for this position; candidates must have a valid driver's license, high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills.  One or more years of security or law enforcement experience is highly preferred.
