CCAD's Auxiliary Services Department is seeking a professional who enjoys fast-paced roles, can work independently with little supervision, is a critical thinker, and has the ability to multi-task to fill this role. SUMMARY

The primary role of the Mailroom Administrative Support Assistant is to process and distribute incoming mail and packages. The Mailroom Administrative Support Assistant will be responsible for maintaining necessary inventory supplies to maintain smooth operations of the mailroom functions. This position may also support other areas of the college within the Auxiliary Services department.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Check in packages and send email correspondence and/or place courtesy calls to the department for pick up.
  • Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Receive, sort and distribute the mail.
  • Ability to learn new systems including the tracking system.
  • Print copy jobs that are requested by CCAD departments.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
  • In the absence of the Mail Room Manager, this position will support the daily operations and work activities of student employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

As a member of the Auxiliary services team, the Administrative Support Assistant may, on occasion, be assigned other duties that support the functions and needs of the CCAD campus.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer focused with an eye for detail.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain focused on work quality.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office and/or Google Drive or the ability to quickly learn.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Must have the ability to work independently and /or as a team member.
  • Must be dependable.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No supervisory responsibilities.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent.
  • Prior experience in an administrative or retail role is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand: walk: and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

COMPENSATION: This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, additional paid time off while the college is closed during winter break, sick time accrual, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
