Illustration Program Coordinator

Illustration and Comics & Narrative Practice Program Coordinator

Program Coordinators have a vital role at CCAD by assisting program chair in the day-to-day operations of their academic units. They ensure that students have a resource for help and support for success in their classes, their community and their careers.

 

Position: Program Coordinator          

 

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Organizational skills
  • Clear communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty and staff
  • Understanding and ability to organize, manage, and populate social media accounts
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft suite, Adobe suite and technical skills related to at least one majors in the reporting organization.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B.F.A.) or equivalent preferred. Candidates with a background in illustration will be given preference. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of administrative work in higher education.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned:

Academic Operations

Assisting the chair with administrative responsibilities may include:

  • Assist the academic unit supervisor with aspects of course scheduling including maintaining a room use overview, promotion of new or under enrolled courses
  • Collect and organize materials, documentation, and information needed for Marketing and Assessment
  • Assist the academic unit supervisor in recruiting new faculty by proofing job descriptions, researching job boards, organizing search materials and facilitating interview processes
  • Support student and program efforts to enter competitions and awards programs
  • Assist Chair in preparation for progress assessment and CCAD Pro
  • Assist Chair with the collection and archive of artifacts to support program review and marketing

 

Student Support

Support and mentoring for current and future students may include:

  • Provide one on one support/meetings with current and future students as needed or requested by the supervisor(s), Admissions or Advising
  • Organize class visitations for potential students at the request of the Admissions Office
  • Assist Chair with portfolio reviews or transfer credit considerations
  • Facilitate technical and guest workshops
  • Provide one on one guidance for students regarding time management, organizational skill as well as technical and professional skills
  • Assist with CCAD Pro, a student support program
  • Collaborate with Career Services for student career coaching and promotion/support of relevant events and opportunities
  • Promote and provide support for student clubs and collectives
  • Compile professional and education resources to support student development

 

Community Engagement

Events and community building may include:

  • Maintain active and effective Social Media for the academic unit
  • Attend, present, promote events that benefit students in the assigned unit including conferences, conventions, exhibitions, screenings and trade shows in coordination with the Admissions Office
  • Attend, present, promote campus events
  • May assist in organizing visiting artists, designers, speakers and field trips
  • Engage with and support student groups and collectives related to the academic unit
  • Work with Alumni Affairs to connect students with alumni
