The Columbus College of Art & Design [CCAD] is seeking Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our History of Art and Design Department to teach Introduction to Game Art and Design beginning in the FALL 2020 semester. CCAD's campus is a vital and growing "urban learning village" of 1,350 students located in downtown Columbus, a smart, open, and growing city with a metro-area population of 1.4 million. Offering BFA and MFA degrees, the College, as a matter of values and practice, focuses on the development of applied creative thinkers.


Course Details: This is a team-taught, integrated class between game and art history faculty introducing games history and analog, digital and experimental game designers and artists. Lectures & discussions on games and their history and art will be paired with workshops spanning physical, digital & experimental platforms. The lectures and projects introduce the world of games and influential theories from early history to the present day and explores their logic, design, social and cultural influence.


A master's degree in art or design history is required.


Previous teaching experience preferred.
