ABOUT THE DEVELOPER: CCAD's Marketing & Communications department is seeking a professional who enjoys fast-paced roles, can work independently with little supervision, is a critical thinker, and has the ability to multi-task to fill this role. The Marketing & Communications staff is a highly collaborative and cohesive team, providing a range of high-quality services for our faculty, staff, and students. The full stack developer is the content manager and works closely with marketing and all of our internal clients. We are dedicated to our mission of being an agile, trusted resource who delivers sustainable service and solution that contribute to the CCAD's success. 

 

SUMMARY

The Full Stack Developer's primary objective is working with Marketing & Communications and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions for both the front end and back end of CCAD's two websites. The Full Stack Developer will manage web site design, acceptance, installation and deployment. This role will be responsible for ticket completion, solution planning, implementation and deployment, and maintenance/troubleshooting for CCAD's websites. This role is also responsible for some SEO content and will work closely with product owner of the sites to ensure that CCAD has best in class sites that are compliant and useful for all constituents.             

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work within the Drupal theming system to create templates and preprocess functions to implement features using industry best practices.
  • Use HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript to implement the visual design and user interactions, and backend performance for websites and web apps.
  • Implement designs using a mobile-first approach to creating pleasant, performant experiences on all devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets, and desktops).
  • Engineer first class user interactions using modern JavaScript best practices and frameworks.
  • Understanding of the theme file and basic PHP knowledge
  • Experience with Twig templating or similar (Mustache/Razor/etc.)
  • Experience implementing web designs within branded style guidelines.
  • Create custom Drupal modules for essential functioning of new features using PHP and Drupal 8 API
  • Analyze and troubleshoot error messages and bug reports to determine and deploy appropriate resolutions
  • Other duties as assigned

                                       

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Comfort / or / experience having worked with a large scale CMS's 
  • Managing expectations of various stakeholders and consistently delivering value
  • Taking initiative and bringing creative energy to problem solving
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experienced with the Drupal API developing Drupal 8 modules and plugins
  • Experienced in object oriented PHP
  • Experience with Composer and Symfony workflows
  • Strong experience in Git development workflows and patching
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and CLI tools
  • Ability to work successfully both individually and with team members on problems, as required by the project.
  • Designing and developing code architecture that promotes reuse, readability, and best-practice coding standards.
  • Leverage front-end style guides and pattern libraries.
  • Experience with wireframing/mockups/storyboarding or any other prototyping method
  • Experience with jQuery, MySQL, Unix shell, Excel ,HTML, and CSS

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalency in a certificate program from a four-year college or university required
  • 3-5 years related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experienced preferred

 

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING IS A PLUS:

  • Experience in higher education, or complex non-profit web ecosystems 
  • Strong Drupal theming
  • Wordpress theming
  • Agile project management methodologies

COMPENSATION: This position is full-time, exempt.  Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, additional paid time off while the college is closed during winter break, sick time accrual, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
