ABOUT THE DIRECTOR OF GRADUATE ADMISSIONS: CCAD's Enrollment Management department is seeking a professional who enjoys fast-paced roles, can work independently with little supervision, is a critical thinker, and has the ability to multi-task to fill this role. The Enrollment Management staff is a highly collaborative and cohesive team, providing a range of high-quality services for our faculty, staff, and students. Ideal candidates will have at least three years of experience. We are dedicated to our mission of being an agile, trusted, strategic partner who delivers sustainable service and solution that contribute to the CCAD's success through the attraction, retention and engagement of a talented creative, diverse and inclusive workforce.


Summary of Position:

The Director of Graduate Admissions is responsible for attracting and recruiting graduate students for CCAD's current and future graduate degree programs. This role reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and is empowered to develop approaches, systems, and strategies to impact new graduate student recruitment.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities but are not limited to the following:

Recruitment

  • Provides leadership, in consultation with the Vice President of Enrollment Management, Associate Provost, and program chairs to set the vision and goals for the college's graduate student recruitment campaigns and activities.
  • Accountable for the design, implementation, and success of graduate student recruitment campaigns.
  • Uses internal and external data, including market research, to assist in setting enrollment goals.
  • Develops and implements processes for college enrollment reporting, projections, and targets; generate, analyze, and effectively communicate reports related to enrollment goals.
  • Innovates in recruitment approach, appealing both to individual prospective students and employers interested in supporting their workforce.
  • Seeks out, develops, and maintains relationships with businesses and organizations offering tuition reimbursement.
  • Seeks out and participates in activities that lead to the admission of new graduate students
  • Collaborates with Marketing and Communications to develop effective and timely marketing campaigns to increase the applicant pipeline
  • Assists graduate programs in developing and evaluating their own effectiveness in outreach and recruitment activities, making recommendations for refinements as necessary.

Admissions

  • Develops, interprets, and administers a graduate admissions and recruitment program
  • Develop all aspects of the online admissions application in collaboration with Enrollment Management operations staff
  • Manages the application submission and review process with graduate program chairs
  • Collaborates with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Associate Vice President for Financial Aid to evaluate and implement graduate financial aid strategy
  • Delivers timely, accurate, consistent, and clear responses to inquiries from prospective students, applicants, and admitted students
  • Communicates admission status in a timely fashion, with an emphasis on best practices in generating high yield

Supervisory Responsibilities

Recruit, hire, and oversee student workers directly working in the Graduate Admissions area.


Education and/or Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree with at least three years of progressive responsibility including:
    • higher education teaching and/or professional development training
    • education administration or arts administration
    • budgetary and personnel management

Physical Demands

  • The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

Work Environment

  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • The pace of the work environment is moderate to fast.





COMPENSATION: This position is full-time, exempt. Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, additional paid time off while the college is closed during winter break, sick time accrual, health and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, campus parking, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
