Clinical Therapist (full-time)

CCAD's Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC) is seeking an energetic and creative mental health professional to fill the role of Clinical Therapist.  This position reports to the Director of the CWC, and serves as a member of a collaborative and cohesive team providing a range of high-quality mental health and wellness services for our students. CWC services address the emotional, interpersonal, and academic issues that directly or indirectly impair students' progress and well-being at CCAD.  The CWC team is dedicated to our mission of inspiring connection, movement, innovation, and partnership through the lens of whole-human education, and in the context to our creative community.   We support students as they learn and practice how to think, do, and thrive.  For more information, visit the CWC webpage.

The CWC is currently a recipient of federal and state grant funding through the Ohio Attorney General's Office and the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).  We place particular emphasis on the provision of resources, programming, and services for students who have survived violence, abuse, or harassment in their lives.

Description of responsibilities and duties:

• Provide individual therapy for students consistent with CWC's scope and mission
• Provide triage, intake, and DSM-V biopsychosocial diagnostic assessment
• Staff daily urgent walk-in hour
• Provide group psychoeducation and group therapy for students
• Serve in an on-call rotation providing afterhours crisis intervention and consultation
• Engage in case management for coordination with on- and off-campus resources and referrals
• Consult with faculty, staff, and family regarding student mental health or behavioral concerns
• Collaborate within the center and interdepartmentally to design and implement prevention and wellness promotion initiatives
• Design and implement trainings for faculty, staff, or student groups regarding mental health or wellness issues
• Participate in Student Affairs or institutional committees and task forces, as called
• Attend CWC, Student Affairs, or college-wide meetings or professional development events
• Provide training and supervision of master's level interns, if present
• Assist Director in administrative functions of the CWC or other tasks, as assigned

Qualified applicants:

• Are licensed or license-eligible in the state of Ohio to practice independently as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, Licensed Independent Social Worker, Independent Marriage and Family Therapist, or psychologist. Please consult Ohio counselor/social worker/MFT or psychology boards for licensing information.
• Are down-to-earth and highly relatable with college students in therapeutic and programmatic contexts
• Are self-motivated and able to work within flexible and fast-paced environments
• Demonstrate strong crisis assessment and intervention skills
• Have experience and competence in the treatment of trauma-related concerns and individuals who have experienced violence
• Demonstrate appreciation and knowledge of the process of intersectional identity development
• Are able to operate within an electronic record management system (Titanium), and demonstrate technology literacy

Strongly preferred qualities:

• Experience working in a college mental health setting
• Experience and competence in working with LGBTQ+ individuals, especially clients identifying as transgender, gender-queer/fluid, non-binary
• Experience and competence in working with people of color
• Ability to deliver engaging and innovative outreach, wellness, or training programming
• Possess or have ability/desire to obtain a supervisory credential within respective field

Compensation: 

Salary is commensurate with education and experience level.  This is a 12 month position.  CCAD offers a comprehensive benefits package.
