Assistant Professor, Fashion Design

Columbus College of Art & Design invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor appointment in the Fashion Design program. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and engaged professional with significant Fashion industry experience, who has a connected network of industry professionals. Candidates must be proficient in a variety of fashion industry skills and have the ability to teach a broad range of courses at all levels such as; fashion illustration, construction, patternmaking, tailoring and Introductory classes in fashion design. Experience with current computer software systems used in the industry such as Adobe Suites, Lectra, Gerber PLM and Accumark are a requirement and a passion for fashion history is a plus.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with program chair and other fashion faculty to further strengthen the vision and curriculum in the Fashion program, and CCAD seeks a candidate who can collaboratively engage with faculty and mentor students. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills; show initiative, dependability, empathy and reliability. In addition, the candidate will possess the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.

In Practice: We seek a colleague who is actively engaged in the contemporary practice of fashion design through a proven track record of professional engagement. Position: Assistant Professor, full-time

Qualifications: Terminal degree in Fashion or related field, preferably complimented by professional experience and a minimum of three years of college level teaching experience preferred.
