Reporting to the Executive Director of Development, the Annual Giving Specialist will oversee all aspects of the CCAD's annual giving efforts. Responsible for increasing annual giving revenue that includes discretionary support, broadening the base of support with an emphasis on alumni, and strengthening the major gift pipeline.  Identifying grant writing opportunities and researching prospective foundation and corporate opportunities. Responsible for facilitating the written requirements, stewardship and management follow-up activities.

The Annual Giving Specialist will analyze strategies and make adjustments to increase annual giving, enhance the annual giving department's use of digital marketing and analytics, and develop strong solicitation, engagement for key constituencies. The position will also work with campus partners to ensure personal and consistent messaging and positive donor experiences.

The success of the Annual Giving Specialist is measured by an annual giving and grant funding dollar goal set by the Executive Director of Development. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES included but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborates with Communications & Marketing to create meaningful and timely solicitations with donors and alumni.
  • Primary contact for inquiries for annual giving questions.
  • Identify potential grant funding opportunities.
  • Responsible for crafting and submitting grant applications.
  • Stewardship of grant funding by reporting data to various corporations.
  • Collaborate with Faculty and Staff on grant writing.
  • Assist with the periodic review of giving content areas on CCAD's website.
  • Creates report for Executive Director of Development on giving trends (average gift size, retention rate, first time gifts & other data)
  • Creates an annual giving plan for solicitations efforts to alumni, CCAD Faculty and Staff, friends of CCAD, current students and parents.
  • Responsible for updating donor records with actions and opportunities as well as exporting data from the Raiser's Edge database as needed
  • Monitors grants and reports from inception to completion and provides status updates to internal departmental stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes and deliverables within established deadlines. Identifies key areas of time, schedule and budgetary risk for the overall Resource Development project portfolio. Advise division leaders on areas for special attention, review, and improvement.
  • Manages and maintains the grant calendar and ensure that all proposals and reports are submitted on time.
  • Manages miscellaneous projects relating to writing, narratives, content, cultivating external relationships, etc.
  • Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience involving demonstrated abilities in successful proposal writing, effective stewardship, and workflow management.
  • Manage the Annual Giving  Budget
  • Participates in Advancement sponsored events
  • Handles other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university required
  • Minimum of two years+ of annual giving experience required with preference to experience working at an institution of higher education.
  • Able to demonstrate strong planning, research and organizational skills.
  • Preference to knowledge of Raiser's Edge or other donor database software.
  • Minimum of one year of grant writing experience.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • The employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand: walk: and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • A valid driver's license and exemplary driving record

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

COMPENSATION: This position is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation is commensurate on experience and qualifications. CCAD offers a benefits package including: vacation time, Vision, health, and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, 403B retirement contribution, tuition remission, free campus parking, and free admission to the Columbus Museum of Art.
