Adjunct Level Design
The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our Game Department to teach Level Design, a course that introduces art students to fundamental concepts of game level conceptualization and digital prototyping. Students will explore core level design concepts such as pacing, player guidance, balance and accessibility alongside key practices in prototyping and documentation. The successful candidate for this position will have direct experience in drafting levels for gameplay, with strong classroom management and community building skills.
Desired candidates with a background in art and technology will be considered for this role. They will have moderate experience within several game engines and demonstrate capabilities using technology tools to facilitate and teach prototyping. This course is scheduled for in person sessions Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 - 3:15 PM (EST). The position will begin August 2024.
Position: Adjunct Instructor, part-time
Qualifications:
- A BFA/MFA in art or design with a focus on coding, game design, or technology will be considered.
- Experience teaching at the college level is desired, but not required.
