Adjunct Instructor, Intro to Programming Visual Art Spec Top

The Columbus College of Art & Design (CCAD) is seeking a Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our CORE Department to teach Introduction to Programming for Visual Art, a course that introduces art students to fundamental concepts of programming for the visual arts. Students will learn to program with an emphasis on web design, robotics, gaming, and mobile app development. The curriculum will cover programming concepts, algorithms, programming rules and vocabulary, writing functions and classes, creating objects, motion and interactivity. The successful candidate for this position will have direct experience in programming, with strong classroom management and community building skills.

Desired candidates with a background in engineering, art, science, or technology will be considered for this role. They will have extensive experience programming with several coding languages and demonstrate capabilities using technology tools to facilitate and teach coding.


This course is scheduled for in person sessions Mondays and Wednesdays, 12:30 - 3:15 PM (EST). The position will begin January 2023.


  • A BFA/MFA in art or design with a focus on coding, game design, or technology will be considered.
  • A Bachelor or Graduate degree in Computer Science will also be considered.
  • Experience teaching at the college level is desired, but not required.


Position: Adjunct Instructor, part-time

Qualifications: A master's degree in art or design history, or a related field, is required. Previous teaching experience preferred.
