ADVANCEMENT COORDINATOR

THE OPPORTUNITY

Columbus College of Art & Design is seeking qualified candidates for an Advancement Coordinator position for our Advancement Department.  The Advancement Coordinator is responsible for executing event plans and supporting the internal operations of the Advancement Office. The success of the Advancement Coordinator will be measured by event management and operational efficiency goals set by the Director of Events This position requires attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple projects.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

While other duties may be assigned, in general the Advancement Coordinator:

  • Execute event plans as planned by Advancement and other departments.
  • Staff campus events as scheduled by the Director of Events
  • Proofs financial paperwork for the Advancement Team due to the Business Office
  • Prepares reports for the VP Of Advancement in coordination with the Director of Events
  • Is the liaison with Marketing for the project management software tool (Asana)
  • Keeps tracks that Advancement Team is using the project management tool and adhering to deadlines
  • Serves as the back to the Donor Relations Manager for gift processing and gift acknowledgement
  • Assist in planning and management of alumni events and activities on campus and off-campus.
  • Coordinates volunteer opportunities for alumni and friends to volunteer for Advancement initiatives
  • Enters updates to records within in Raiser's Edge database
  • Assist in the planning and participation of Advancement sponsored events (Art Fairs, Chroma, Fashion Show, Celebration of Excellence)
  • Prepare briefings for CCAD Leadership and VP for Advancement for events
  • Is the backup for the Manager of Donor Relations to pull lists from RE as requested
  • Handles other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must possess the ability to work collaboratively and courteously with colleagues, alumni, other constituents and the public
  • Must exhibit initiative, optimism, and enthusiasm
  • Ability to plan and implement major events with close attention to detail and timeline management
  • Must be able to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Must exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Should have basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to be flexible and take initiative, as well as to work independently
  • Ability to travel, work evenings and/or weekends
  • Must have a working knowledge of safe and archival handling and wrapping materials for the care of artworks.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university
  • Minimum of two years+ of professional work experience required with preference to direct experience working with customers
  • Demonstrated success in events
  • Demonstrably strong planning, research and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.
  • Ability to thrive as a team player in an Advancement Office with less than 7 employees

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities
