3D Lighting and Compositing - Adjunct Instructor

The Columbus College of Art & Design [CCAD] is seeking Part Time Adjunct Instructor for our Animation Department to teach 3D Lighting and Compositing beginning in the FALL 2020 semester. CCAD's campus is a vital and growing "urban learning village" of 1,350 students located in downtown Columbus, a smart, open, and growing city with a metro-area population of 1.4 million. Offering BFA and MFA degrees, the College, as a matter of values and practice, focuses on the development of applied creative thinkers.

Course Details: This class focuses on industry-standard 3D lighting and compositing practices for both the VFX and the Real-Time Pipelines. Students learn how to build lighting-rigs, light scenes, render layer-passes, and organize the final composite in-support of post-processing. Special attention is paid to the lighting/compositing pipeline and the ability to make adjustments in post. Faculty must have a working knowledge of MAYA (with experience in either VRay, Mental Ray, Renderman, or Arnold), Substance Suite, Adobe AfterEffects, and the Unreal Engine. The class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays 7pm to 9:45pm

 

A bachelor's degree in animation or a related field is required.

A master's degree in art or design history is preferred.

Previous teaching experience preferred.

A Portfolio of Visual Work is required. This can be a link to a demoreel and/or PDF portfolio.
